Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that Roma will be donating an initial €150,000 sum to the family of Sean Cox to aid his medical and rehabilitation costs, an announced on the Serie A side’s official Twitter account.
As reported by BBC Sport, Cox, who is a fan of the Merseyside based club, was assaulted outside Anfield just minutes before the Reds’ Champions League semi-final clash against AS Roma back in April. He and his brother Michael spotted a group of around ’50 or 60′ intimidating people approaching them.
The 53-year-old Irishman was put in a coma following the incident, and it has been revealed that he is struggling to talk. Many tributes poured in from across the footballing world, including donations from Jurgen Klopp himself as well as Everton full-back Seamus Coleman.
